The cemetery is operated by the Adjutant General's Department, located in Boscawen less than two miles from our Boscawen office. Cemetery operations are overseen by the Superintendent who is responsible for enforcing all cemetery regulations. Eligibility requirements for interment in the State Veterans Cemetery are consistent with the rules followed by the Department of Veterans' Affairs, National Cemetery System. Generally, veterans honorably discharged and members of the National Guard or Reserve with at least 20 years of service are eligible.

The cemetery currently offers two options for interment of cremated remains; either burial in the ground or in a niche in an outside columbarium. The decision as to which option is chosen is left up to the family. There is no cost to the veteran for interment of the cremated remains. For interment of a non-veteran spouse or other qualified family member, the cost is $350. While space cannot be reserved in advance, a veteran can apply to confirm eligibility.
